College Hill - Harry S. Johnson Lodge #641

A Mason's personal Masonic history

is only as long as his tenure as a member of our fraternity. The history of our fraternal order, as a subject, can be accessed from a myriad of websites and published books. Nowhere, however, can a Mason learn about the history of his Lodge without first experiencing a part of it and reading about the rest, if the information is available.

The history of College Hill-Harry S. Johnson Lodge No. 641 F.&A.M. of Ohio from inception in 1917 to 2005 is available in printed form for a low cost of $10.00 per copy. It includes the histories of both Lodges. Contact the Secretary or any Lodge officer.

Every 641 member and current Lodge officer should have a copy and read it - if for the only reason that "to not know history, is to repeat it", as well as to understand the manner in which we have grown and maintained our Lodge as a standout one in the 1st District of Ohio.

Although our Lodge is typical in many ways to any other Lodge, we do have an interesting history unique only to us. From the high cost of membership in the early days, through the forming of our Lodge with the help of McMakin members, building our own Lodge with virtually our members' own bare hands, our close association with and final merging with Harry S. Johnson Lodge, it is a very interesting story of which every member should be aware.
